rock-climbingTHE ROCK Climbing Challenge in Kalinawan will be held on March 28 in Barangay Aundanao of the Island Garden City of Samal.

“You should not miss this exciting event. It’s a first of its kind here in rock climbing because of its natural rock wall,” said event coordinator Rey Sumagaysay in last Tuesday’s SCOOP Sports Round Table Talk at the Tagboan Lounge of the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
The 150-footer natural rock wall is beside the crystal blue waters of Kalinawan Beach Resort owned by Samal Extreme Adventure & Lifestyle, Inc.

“Ito talaga ang natural at totoong rock climbing,” said Sumagaysay, who will be using his well-trained and skilled staff from the Edge Outdoor Specialist during the event.
Registration fee is P1,500 per participant inclusive of the free usage of the gears, lunch, drinks, round trip boat ride and the use of the facilities and other aqua sports of the resort.
Kalinawan also has kayaks, snorkels, tyro-lian traverse, canopy walk, zip line and aqua zip line.

The categories in the rock climbing competition are:

  • Beginners Open and
  • Expert Open.

Participants will assemble at the Sta. Ana Wharf at 6 a.m. on March 28 and the boat will depart at exactly 7 a.m.
